General Surgery

RealHand HD instruments are taking laparoscopic General Surgery to a whole new level by providing:

  • Enhanced dexterity & control
  • A technological means to tackle open cases minimally invasively
  • Versatility with port placement

Challenge conventional thinking on port placement

  • Greater flexibility with port placement
  • Overcome challenges posed by previous surgery, exposure or body habitus
  • Reduce the number of ports

RealHand is proving to be an effective tool for minimally invasive General Surgery. RealHand has been utilized in a breadth of procedures such as:

Lap ColectomyLap Esophagectomy
Lap BandLap Adrenalectomy
Lap Roux-en-Y Lap Nissen
Lap HerniaLap Chole
Lap Heller MyotomyLap Lymphadenectomy
Lap AppendectomyLap Ventral Hernia
Lap G Tube PlacementLap Appendectomy
Lap SplenectomyLap Paraesophageal Hernia

Lap Colectomy

  • Adaptability and versatility of port placement
  • Freedom to dissect at multiple angles of attack
  • Greater ability to handle, control and dissect bowel

Lap Band

  • Make a smaller dissection window
  • Take a shallower, more direct approach to grab the band
  • Facilitate suturing

Lap Nissen

  • Greater dexterity and control around the esophagus
  • More precision in the wrap

Single Port

RealHand HD instruments uniquely enable the surgeon to reduce the number of trocars for surgery. RealHand facilitates single port laparoscopy by allowing triangulation of the instruments even after they are introduced in the same entry point. Many single port/single incision procedures are currently being performed entirely through the umbilicus. For the patient, this approach may yield less post-op pain, a reduced chance of infection or ventral hernia and better cosmetic results.
